In addition to the delicate acidity that interweaves with the perfectly balanced core, the moderate alcohol content contributes to a palate-pleasing and revitalising finish. VINTAGE CONDITIONS The 2023 season began with mild and dry conditions which had a crucial impact on grape quantity and quality, and ended wet. Drier conditions limited berry mass and subsequently yields, but also ensured outstanding quality. The cool ripening period aided early cultivars. Vigorous growth after the December thunderstorms caused temporary deficiencies which then recovered later in the season. VINIFICATION The grapes were handpicked and...

Additional notes of velvety cocoa, forest berries, and exotic spice emerge, seamlessly integrated with a refined oak character. This wine is both elegant and intricate, with great length on the finish and the structure and depth to develop beautifully over time. VINTAGE CONDITIONS The 2023 vintage experienced warmer winter conditions, leading to uneven budding and flowering. A much-needed 100mm...

Our Cap Classique takes the name Skaamgesiggie or bashful Sugarbush as it is affectionately known, a very rare species of (Protea pudens) with unique downward hanging flowers. This timid flower is endemic to the Strandveld biosphere and is so endangered that it has been classified as a ‘red data’ species. This delicate Cap Classique is made in the traditional method from Pinot Noir grapes and shows notes of strawberry, cherry and oyster shell and has a fine, lingering mousse which delights the palate. Enjoy on its own or with oysters, salads, sushi, salmon and trout and duck breast. Served very well chilled, ideally 4-8 degrees Celsius.

XO Brandy is a collaboration between Six Dogs and the finest brandy distillers in the country. We set out to create a brandy so smooth, it would tempt even the traditional Cognac aficionados and first time brandy drinkers. To achieve this, we searched for exquisitely fine brandy, double distilled in copper pot stills and aged in French oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years to make our blend. We introduced the tiniest amount of raw fynbos honey, collected from our own hives, to soften the brandy and enhance its warm tone. Complex and smooth on the palate, Six Dogs XO Brandy is the perfect sipping serve, delivering a lingering aftertaste of honey, passion fruit, dried peaches, dates and fig....

THE CAPERITIF is a vermouth-styled aperitif- an aromatised fortified wine. The addition to a wine of numerous botanicals, fruits, alcohol, sugar and bitters inherently changes the nature of the wine. It becomes vermouth. A high quality white wine base is the starting point–this is made on Kalmoesfontein. To this wine, a neutral grape-derived alcohol spirit is added to increase the alcohol to16.5vol%. Once this is level of alcohol is achieved, we follow the propriety recipe or formula and add 46 different ingredients. These ingredients include a variety of fruits, garden herbs, spices, a bouquet of various flowers, some roots and barks for bitterness as well as the distinctive and unique Fynbos. Fynbos is the collective name for the 8500 different...

Ataraxia Chardonnays are made with complete deference to expressing our terroir over trying to conjure an expression of the grape itself through winemaking alchemy. In the quest for accuracy of this expression, spontaneous fermentation comprised part of a minimalist, non-interventionist winemaking approach. This wine is 100% barrel fermented and matured in specially selected small French oak barriques sourced exclusively from Burgundian coopers. The result is a Chardonnay that is New World in provenance but Old World in stylistic leaning. Broad-shouldered but narrow-hipped, it effortlessly manages to be both subtle and intense. An assertive mineral acidity is beautifully balanced by a compelling intensity of fruit. A stylish, world-class Chardonnay.
